Saints

A Blessing goes out to KDGS's Greg Williams who continues to make a mark on the Wichita community away from the station with his participation in the city's annual Real Men, Real Heroes Recognition Event. For the 6th year the non-profit organization will recognize Middle and High School students who participate in RMRH Future Heroes, Teen Heroes and Alpha Esquire programs that provide mentoring, tutoring and access to positive role models as well as encouraging academic excellence and community outreach. Greg along with S.I.N. encourage any support, donations or sponsorships for this year's event by contacting the RMRH Program Specialist Christina Dotson at (316) 303-8017 or their website www.realheroeswichita.org.

Columbia's Ayelet Schiffman returns to the Saints side for the invite to an Exclusive Album Preview event for J. Cole's sophomore release BORN SINNER. Held at the School of Visual Arts Theatre in New York City those in attendance donned headphones provided by Beats by Dre for an intimate uninterrupted listening experience which J. Cole participated in as well. Look for the album to garner solid reviews leading to the June 18th release as Ayelet and her team begin the set-up for Cole's next single "Crooked Smile" featuring TLC.

'Vitamin A' turned to 'Vitamin B' as RCA's Becky G lit up the S.I.N. offices on her recent visit to NYC to record a video segment in support of her debut single "Play It Again." Check out the song and video for the single on SINternet.com and look for Becky's Vitamin segment to debut on the site soon. An extended shoutout goes to RCA's Jessie Maldonado for setting up the visit.

Roadrunner's John Boulos takes a moment away from his strong roster of new releases including UK sensation Rudimental's "Feel The Love" to show some love to daughter Kimberly who is involved with coaching and training at the Black Pearl Soccer Academy. The Academy provides housing, education, food and mentorship to Haiti's at-risk youth and is currently seeking donations and sponsorships to help send the team to an upcoming tournament in Norway. For a country that has gone through so much hardship an organization like this truly makes a difference. For more information to donate or sponsor the academy's efforts please visit...

Sinners

Storm clouds hover over Programmers who use the excuse of no room or space as a reason for not returning calls to Record Label Reps. It's important to remember that it's not always about what you're 'adding this week' but rather your feedback and input about the Music that may have potential to get on your playlists down the line. Time and time again we reiterate that Programmers along with the Labels should look to the S.I.N. Timetables to see how 'hits' develop over a 4-5 month period. If we can start dialogues about potential records earlier on we can better plan and strategize how to approach these releases at radio when the time is right.

Our Label Friends take a walk on the SINner side for continuing to throw more new releases into the marketplace along with little set-up time and impacting multiple singles at the same format in the same week without giving Programmers the chance to digest or address the records you dropped and attempted to Impact the previous week. This rapid release process does nothing but cannibalize the potential of your own Artists and their Music. Radio can't embrace Music at the pace the Labels continue to release it. Let's not forget, although a record may have achieved the goal a label had set forth at the launch the follow-up at Radio may be initially blocked by the previous single that is still active, researching and holding a slot on the current playlist making the process move slower than the Label is taking into consideration.

Lightning strikes Radio Programmers who make a habit of being Chart Watchers and opt to write-off Mid-Chart Records. Rather that basing a song's strength on its Chart Number why not look at a better indicator of monitoring the song's growth over a period of time once again as indicated by the S.I.N. Timetables. We believe it's much better to have a record in the 20s that remains active for 5 months or longer than one that goes Top 5 in 5 weeks and falls promptly off the chart.
