It has come to my attention that record labels, as much as I hate to find this out, only care about their records. There was a time that I thought there was a true mutual relationship between the radio stations and record labels. However, I feel like that does not exist.

KUUU has always been been honest about our phones, callout, etc. This has come back to bite me in the ass. I want every label to know I will no longer be discussing the decisions I make to our playlist/rotations. Even when I have given your record a chance you still come back and ask why it has moved down in rotation, or out. I continue to give every label a chance and give the information we use to make our decisions. Apparently that is not enough for most labels. Apparently you want more.

I could understand why many of you would ask about your record if I never gave it a fair chance. Let it sit in overnights or mixshow and then tossed it. I'm not like that. I have integrity. When I say I'm playing a record; I play it. However, I feel as though I'm one of the few people in this panel that give records their fair shot and still get harassed as to why it is no longer being played. No matter the circumstance.

It would be great to feel that the record labels on this panel want the stations they work with to succeed. At KUUU we want the record labels to succeed. That is why information is so freely given at this station. The T10 phones and rotation changes will continue to be sent to everyone on this list. HOWEVER, I will no longer be discussing my actions regarding our playlist. I will no longer defend my decisions. I have been at KUUU for 9 years. I know this station. I know the market. Please trust that I am making the right decision for this radio station to continue to succeed.

KUUU has a music director to discuss your records. Please contact him if you want to discuss music. I'm no longer going to discuss current records.
