Major Blessings and Many Thanks go out to Noah Sheer, Rick Sackheim, Scott Maness and the entire IDJMG family who helped kick start the first official event at the S.I.N. Lounge with New Artist John West. John and his team deserve a Blessing as well for providing everyone in attendance, including a limited list of Radio Programmers who are already helping to jumpstart "Already There" at radio, with an intimate and memorable evening showcasing his talent. John's genuine down-to-earth personality is another reason why we're in his corner rooting him on. Keep tuned to S.I.N. & SINternet.com for more on this event including photos and video footage coming soon.
Congrats go out to Brenda Romano, Chris Lopes and the entire Interscope Pop team for making sure Top 40 gave their luv to Madonna as nearly 100 stations come onboard "Give Me All Your Luvin'" in the first week! Shoutouts also go to Strazza, Beata, Inca and the RCA team on grabbing Most Added at Rhythm with Chris Brown "Turn Up The Music" ... and we tip our hat to Benny Pough, Traci Adams and the Epic Urban squad for the great rollout with the new John Legend.
Lightning strikes Label Executives who place pressure on their promotion team for premature adds especially in regions/markets where the song has not yet infiltrated or has yet to generate any buzz. It's better to wait and develop activity or a story that will have influenced the stations in these markets to embrace the single with legitimate airplay rather than just adding their call letters to a list for the hell of it.
Dark Clouds loom over Promotion Staffs who make it a practice to ask for favors rather than a real shot for Records and Artists they believe in especially if they feel they have real potential to succeed at a given station. If you want the Programmers to believe in your music make them feel that you do too... the same Cloud coverage hangs over Programmers who clog their playlists with lots of overnight records that simply become part of a rotated inventory rather than utilizing these positions to develop music they think has a legitimate shot at success on their stations.
